Post subject:  5TH Dem Caucus Vote

"Well," Rudy Clay chaired the democratic caucus for 5th district today. Starting eight minutes shy of the scheduled start time, an improvement, I guess? After the invocation things were under way.
The Chairman, based in part on past practice, denied the call for the candidates to speak prior to Precinct Committee Persons (PCP) vote. After a brief explanation of the voting procedure, the 15 Precinct persons lined up to vote with the Chairman going down the line to personally speak to each one. The majority of the 15 (PCP) was revised upon the late arrival one more PCP announced at 1:28 p.m.
The final vote count 15 to 1. All the local heavy hitters were out in support. Reminded of a quote from Harriet Tubman: “I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.” I hope the young man that took on the machine uses this as his reference point in his belief, “I’m a firm believer that Gary can make a dramatic turnaround.” Good luck.
