If the law states that police officers must retire at age 65, then what is the problem? Police officers, of all people should know the significance of obeying and respecting the law.

In an article published in Friday's (17th) post-tribune newspaper, one of four police officers is going to challenge his 65 year retirement. If an individual is cruising down Broadway in Gary and a police officer pulls up behind him/her and turns on their emergency lights, the law states that that individual must pull over and stop. No exceptions.

What is the difference between a sworn police officer disregarding the law by refusing to comply with a city ordinance and a regular citizen refusing to pull over when signaled to do so by law enforcement? Possibly death for the citizen.
