New Initiatives:

The SCH is implementing a State mandated program, Coordinated Early Intervention Services, also known as CEIS. This program is supposed to serve those students in the regular academic classes to help prevent suspensions, expulsions, and removal of students from the classrooms for a variety of disciplinary measures. The targeted demographics are those students in 6th-12th grades, who are also African American. The Department Of Education says that there are a disproportionate number of black students being expulled, suspended, or removed from the classrooms because of discipline issues. Under this State mandate, policies and procedures in regards to disciplinary actions must be revised. This intervention program will be aided by 8 Social Workers, one for every middle school and high school in Hammond. The Social workers, who will not be SCH employees, but private contracted workers, will work with the students removed from class because of disciplinary issues, and with the appropriate staff. After a student receives 3 referrals to the Social Worker for disciplinary issues, a behavior plan will be made, and counseling will be available. 6 of these new Social Workers will be paid through Special Education funds, and the other 2 will be paid for by Title1 funds.
The goal of this program is to increase test scores and graduation rates, and reduce the numbers of expulsions and suspensions. The SCH is concentrating their tracking to the black students, but State mandates the students who are in the scope of the CEIS be tracked for 2 years.
Also, ICBM will be altered to reflect the CEIS. ICBM will have a name change, not yet determined. Also, it has been proposed that some students might need an alternate school schedule to accomadate their needs for various reasons, including family issues. The job postings will be on the SCH website tomorrow.

I think you can go ahead and file this in the "Least Surprising News Story Of The Day" folder.

is there ANYTHING these people can do that doesn't require special attention?

anything? Is there one gaddamn thing?

So what is the answer THE ''publik skewel sistum'' comes up with to deal with it?

they just gave these animals free reign to do whatever they want because now there are no consequences for their actions and all kinds of repercussions if Whitey tries to defend himself..

just to get that state money...

and if you think this is racial preference....wait till you hear this. I understand dumps like Gary get almost TWICE the money per student from the state than the south county does. where the fück does this money go? WHERE?

Whose brilliant fücking idea was this?.     THE ''PUBLIK SKEWEL SISTUM AND IT's MOTHER UNION''

It was never about the kids.... it is always about the money...

and who loses?

Students who REALLY want to learn...THEY are going to suffer even more.

I suggest if you are White, get your kids out of this school system now.

Hammond for one will be another Detroit in 2 years thanks to ridiculous ideas like this one.

Mother's horror as she
fights to make buses free
to all students... and her son is
brutally BEATEN on the way to school

Daily Mail

When Lora Hoagland was fighting to make buses to and from Franklin Township schools in Indiana free for all families, she didn't think her son's very trip to class would land him in the hospital.

It all started when Caleb Jones, 14, unwittingly sat in the seat of a violent classmate, 15, who decided to push, punch and berate when he did not get up while the bus was moving.

A video of the incident was posted on Facebook by the attacker, in which he bragged 'dat wassnt nun'.

Caleb ended up getting staples in his head and the boy, who is a minor, was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct as well as suspended from school.

BREAK

After the incident, the video was uploaded onto Facebook and shared amongst the students at Franklin Township Middle School East.

Caleb's attacker posted a message on the video of the fight:'lmao dat lil (expletive) dat wassnt nun i hit him three times nun major yaa-noo'.

Mrs Hoagland wants answers from the school district, but they say their driver followed protocol.

'Franklin Township Community Schools took immediate action, including both our law enforcement and the IMPD, following … safety protocols and procedures,' a statement from the school read.

'(We are) taking appropriate and swift action regarding this matter.'

Mrs Hoagland wants Caleb's attacker off the bus and out of the school district for good.

'Someone will pay , in more ways than one,' Mrs Hoagland said on Facebook. 'They have woke up a screaming giant.'
