I know that a lot of people here don't like to hear from me.
I've been staying quiet.
I mean I'm just a grandma. I don't count. Except that I pay taxes.
My problem. I have 4 grandkids in the Hammond System.
For a while they were in 3 different schools.
When it came to graduation in June. I had 2 graduating at separate schools.
Guess what insteading of being at different times so I could attend both, they were
both at about the same time. And the high school was the same night. I'm sure many
familes that the same problem.
Now every body is in a different school. Open house is this week.
One is at 4 - 6 and the other is at 6 - 8 same day. problem is that the schools
are not close to each other. And one grand child is in something after school.
and they don't get home until almost 4:30.
My question is why should the school system be so stupid and small minded that they
hamper the families (whether parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters etc) to
having to pick which child they want to back and support? That is wrong!!!
If my grandkids weren't doing so good...... I have all on A or AB honor rolls. I have 2
that are getting Honors Classes. These 4 kids doing so good need to be supported by their
families and grandparents. Why do we have to pick???
My guess is they figure this is their domain, and that thay can do what ever the hell
they want. They don't care about the kids, the familes etc. As I see it, they just like
the money they get in their pockets.
I have encountered the same problem with my kids. You can't be in 2 places at once. I think they should revise their scheduling to not coincide with the times of the events of the feeder schools to the middle/high schools. I have a very big age difference between my kids. I literally had 1 in high school, 1 in grade school, and 1 in preschool at the same time.
