Special Presentation/Recognition:
There was a presentation on the Skype from Finland to Clark High School. There was a presentation on the AP classes at Hammond High and Gavit. A grant was used to boost the AP programs at these 2 schools, and will be expanded to Morton and Clark, with more grants, in the future. Theresa Mayerik was recognized this evening for receiving the "Crystal Globe" award from the "American Asian Association", for her efforts to bring Mandarin Chinese Teachers here from China.
Calender:
The next regular school board meetings will be Monday January 13, 2014 6pm 41 Williams Street, and Monday January 27, 2014 6pm at Maywood School.
Public Expression 2nd Session(no speakers 1st session)
Mr. Randall Schrieger(sp) says there is a need to diversify trades classes at the Career Center. He suggested that a course on Industrial Safety(OSHA) would be a good addition to the offerings currently in place.
My Take:
I agree with the speaker this evening. There needs to be more course offerings at the Career Center. An OSHA course would be a good option.
