Here are the highlights of the meeting:

All board members were present.

A Teacher from Hammond High had their contract cancelled. This was not on the personnel report, but was on the consent agenda.

Unfinished Business:

Ms. Alethea Pritchett was named Deputy Treasurer of the SCH.

New Business:

The election of officers for the School Board was held this evening. the current positions are to stay as they are until after the 1st of the year.

Public Expression:

There were no speakers this evening.

My Take:

A very quick 20 minute meeting.

Thanks Tiger! Is the treasurer a new position? Did they hire back any teachers. Why would it be on consent agenda.

I think the Deputy Treasurer is a new position. I think it is a back-up position in case the Treasurer cannot fullfill their duties for whatever reason. I do not recall a deputy treasurer position in the past. As for hiring back Teachers, not a peep on this right now. IMO, there will only be a handfull coming back, and they will not probably be informed until August sometime. It was unusual that this particular Teacher was on the consent agenda, instead of the personnel report. His contract termination appears to be retroactive to the end of this school year.
