I thought the Philpot trial was to begin in July. Anyone have any info on the start date?

I seriously doubt Tom will risk a full trial.

Huh? What's the "other" Tom got to do with anything connected to Philpot's case?

Trial counsel are ORDERED to submit all pre-trial filings on or before the Final Pre-Trial
Conference and to appear in person for the Final Pre-Trial Conference.

The Court REMINDS the parties that any plea agreement is to be filed in writing with the
District Court no later than five (5) working days before trial
. Late pleas may result in the
imposition of jury costs against the delaying party(ies) and/or counsel by the District Court.

If we're looking for sparks with the Philpot trial, August 14th/15 might make big headlines.

Watch one of Tommie, no not that Tommie, but this Tommie's people get a little present that will require either their hiring an attorney or a play on lets make a deal. :( I don't think this person has the resources to hire three attorneys, so it just might be lets make a deal.

Will it be another Nancy Fromm? The proverbial nail in the coffin.

Squeak, Squeak!

I heard the prosecutors did a good job at sorting out Tommie receiving payment above and beyond his stated salary.

Why do so many politicians loose their head, no not that head, but the other head when they get into office? Money?

Could you imagine Philpot as Sheriff.

Is this what is wrong with Lake County?

Is Christine Cid a hero here?

You have got to think about how this federal investigation came to light. Was it really a news paper article? Who gave the news paper the story?

Was the criminal investigation of Philpot reason why Christine was demoted?

Is Christine facing additional legal problems related to income taxes? My bet... yes.

Down goes Tommie.
I wonder what is going through Van Till's mind right now?

This insures that Philpot will never hold another elected office. I think it's awesome that he was convicted. All of the 'experts' from this board who made predictions about the outcome of this trial were wrong,as usual.

Let the musical chairs begin. Philpot immediately has to step down as coronor. It'll be interesting to see who ends up where.

So now the real question....Where does he serve his term?

He could ask for Oxford. Based on other convicted felon requests there are so many Lake County people up there it makes it a nice place for visitors to carpool.

He could go to Kentucky and play basketball with Cantrell you remember the stand up guy.

Maybe he could ask for Colorado. Can you imagine him and Blago sharing a cell?

Or he could start telling the Feds some usefull information and get a break.

Only time will tell.
