You answer that question, but in a Times article, September 15th, 2012, headlines read: Ethics questions swirl over Dyer police pension vote.

The same circumstance has occurred in Hammond with Opinker and Sanchez. Opinker voting
on fire department issues, he should have recused himself.

Hammond is one of the few municipalities in the county that have not signed on to the Lake County move to more ethical government. Now that says volumes.

I think the state has taken care of that issue already, but you knew that

I don't know... but there still are a lot of Poles, Slovaks, and more recently, Mexicans in Hammond. Does it matter how many ethnics Hammond has?

No they did not. Three members of the current city council are government employees. Opinker should not have voted on any fire department issues, as it is a direct conflict.

Only after years of this type of conflict has the Indiana State Legislature passed legislation which will not allow members of a city council to also be active government employee's.

But, you knew that.

I know they passed that after Opinker (aka; me) was elected. But you knew that.

I certainly hope your not posting on city time and using city resources such as wireless. Ethics Mikie, Ethics.

How is the IRS audit?

Nice car!

What happened to no political signs on vehicles on city property, that is any other sign but McDermott's.

I'm confused. Does that car belong to one of those dastardly absentee landlords who picked the bones of beautiful, 70-year old, 850 square foot Hammond shacks and left it for dead?

Or, does it belong to some overworked, underpaid, unappreciated Hammond municipal employee who is being targeted by a thieving absentee landlord by putting a political sign where by law it doesn't belong?

Hmmmm?

I have to laugh at the picture, not one, not two, but looks like 4 McDermott political signs.

I wonder if they got an opportunity to write the Potash and Harris municipal bond deals?
