Salinas has been criminally indicted, and arrested this morning, for reportedly using $300,000 in casino revenue for tree trimming, cutting and removal in the 2nd district, to enrich himself by taking $10,500 from David Johnson. David Johnson of East Chicago sidewalk for votes fame.

Johnson runs/owns Dave's Tree service. As stated by Capp, Davie boy reportedly gave Salinas $10,500 for the $300,000 of business. Johnson was a subject of interest in the Pastrick sidewalk/tree trimming activities of a ten or so years ago.

BTW, Dave Johnson was charged for reportedly paying $10,500 to Salinas.

Mr. Capp indicated their primary source of information is the Merriville FBI Public Corruption Tip line @ 219 769 3719.

Now, I have met and talked with Salinas several times and with in the last week to ten days. I've never considered Salinas as a bright light bulb, but then I have always though, my bulb doesn't glow to brightly as well. Maybe Salinas might to the first smart thing he can and begin to chirp like a bird. :smt002

Bye, bye Al.

Also indicted:

Also indicted:

Verlsa Crenshaw, (spelling?) Meriville Town Clerk who took $175,000 in court bond/fines and failed to pay income taxes on that to the tune of $50,000. Crenshaw signed a plea agreement this morning.

Marilyn D. Krusas, Gary City Council person, Tax Evasion, acts of evasion on failing to report $230,000 of inheritance between 2009 and 2010

Juda S. Parks, E. Chicago Council Person, not reporting taxes or paying taxes. Plea agreement signed today. Owed $15,000

Mauel Montavo (spelling) Director of the East Chicago Public Library false tax return, claiming excessively high medical and dental charges found on his tax return.

All this reportedly came from the FBI TIP line (219 769 3719) or from their web page. https://tips.fbi.gov/ NICE!

As I understand another elected Hammond official income taxes are under review. Couldn't happen to a better person.

I would still like to know how at $15 a crack approximately 4,000 or so cars were parked at the Fest and with about 5 people per car arriving, how 78,000 people walk to the fest.

Salinas has been around since 1995, an institution in the city council. If anyone knows where bodies are buried and how it works to get your cut, Al's your man.

Normally speaking this might be an 18m sentence, but because Al is Big Al, you can think he might get 4 to 5 years at 85% time.

But if you look at this series of indictments from the fed prosecutor, they got at least one guy from each of the most problematic city councils, East Chicago, Gary and Hammond. They went back years looking at income taxes, back to the 1990's. This was not, a hap hazard review, the boys with gold badges were on a hunting trip, with a mircroscope, intentionally looking back on taxes. Nice!

In Park's deal he signed this morning, Capp specifically stated he plead guilty and would continue to cooperate. Love those words.

Funny, Capp said it all began with a call to the Merriville Public Corruption Unit 219 769 3719. Maybe with Big Al and Crenshaw, but not with the others.

When you sit on the council seat, you know Salinas is gone and one more of your brethren are talking to the IRS as we speak. Councilman, it's a promise, I'll keep writing.

Smile Councilman. Are these the guys with the Gold Badges you were talking about?

It sure took them long enough. All I know is there are questions about a owner occupied three unit with an illegal homestead. You are correct they go way back Chuck.

Did Salinas ever work on McDermott's campaign?

Would cutting down trees count as "infrastructure improvements"? I would think that is a lot more infrastructure related than College Bound or Festival of the Lakes.

No doubt some absentee landlord is behind all of this, as they are responsible for all of Hammond's ills.

Be my guest. Unless you are Chuck and have a three unit with an illegal homestead it means nothing.

I think it is a bunch of malarkey. Much like a failed attempt of a class action law suit soeone tried to file.

Nice to see you're using your cell phone. Another one I think I will save.

Maybe that lawsuit failed, but I think another one is just around the corner. Smile maybe you might be involved.
