and are there other similarities in Lake County Government starting with Hammond?

I was sitting down having a cup of coffee with an old friend and conversation turned to the First Baptist Church in Hammond http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/January-2013/Let-Us-Prey-Big-Trouble-at-First-Baptist-Church/. From the Schaap polishing shaft speech http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr0UpQXYkGs, to adultery, to past members conviction involving pedophilia, to allegations of child abuse and mortgage fraud, yes allegations of mortgage fraud with properties here in Hammond, politicians knocked on their door asking for support. The question is did the collective consciousness of a community knowing turn their back on these misdeeds?

It appears, as documented in the article, people turned their back on stories of child beating, adultery, "some call a deeply embedded culture of misogyny and sexual and physical abuse" all here in Hammond, your own back yard.

The article is interesting reading, some hard questions need to be answered by the collective consciousness here in Hammond.

Did political leadership here in Hammond intentionally turn their back?

Did politicians influence how law enforcement dealt with allegations coming out of the church?

Did Hammond's collective consciousness turn its back on knowledge these things were going on?

Now, let's draw an analogy between the above story and the collective public consciousness here in Hammond and how Hammond Politics and as Marsha Hahney and Steven Glover, aka the Preacher, frequently referred to a criminal enterprise labeled the McMafia?

Is a community turning its back to a criminal enterprise because of fear? Marsha Hahney named McDermott, Hamm and Fowler in federal civil litigation harassing her, releasing HIPPA protected information and interfering with her first amendment rights. Unfortunately Marsha was killed in a fire before her day in court, afraid of members of the fire department who attempted to save her life.

We all remember these victims of lug nuts shot at windows, tires slashed, attempts to slander to the point that Kiesling pointed towards the use of city owned computers posting (during business hours?) on the Times message board, protecting McDermott and eventually bringing down the Times board. Kiesling identified the ip address coming from McDermott's city hall. Some even believe that McDermott made sure the boys got paid for their efforts on city time.

From WDEM, some say WJED, to contractors doing business with the city, to a ton of attorneys receiving paychecks not only for litigation, but consulting, bleeding Hammond and Lake County dry....all for individual wealth or corporate survival.

We have all listened how certain radio personalities just go along for the ride, for the sake of assuring XYZ Communications has another dollar coming into their back door or how a regional news paper turns their back on Hammond fiscal malfeasance for the sake of advertising dollars brought by full page news print adds.

Is their proof of malfeasance? 84 Politicians http://www.northwestindiana.com/discussionforum/posting.php?mode=edit&f=15&p=147512&sid=3a83c0c5a39eb07dd129acd4167b0be0, and some of their associates point in a direction of more likely than not.

Has a Hammond sitting Council Person paid $34,000 in public tax dollars for dumpsters the week before the election? You bet ya. Criminal? I'm not an attorney or a prosecutor, but it sounds illegal and Yes, and you the tax payer fall silent for this type of behavior.

Some parallels? You bet ya.

You can read the state board of accounts for a bit more information on Hammond mismanagement.

Sad part. That article in the Chicago magazine, only scratched the surface. More to come.
