Here are the highlights of the meeting:

Ms. White was absent this evening. Ms. Mamala took her place as acting board president.

Special Recognition:
The Irving Sumdog team scored a second place in the Lake County competition. Sumdog is a math competition.

Personnel Reports:

Mr. Kristopher Rivera, the Principal of Scott Middle School, has been named the Chief Administrator For Human Resources, replacing Eliza Gonzales, who resigned last year. His salary is $94,041.01

The next regular school board meeting is monday February 25, 2013 Gavit Middle/High School 6pm.

Public Expression 2nd Session(no speakers 1st session)

Ms. Ella Anderson, speaking on behalf of many SCH Transportation employees in the audience this evening, relayed to the school board members the alleged problems the employees are facing. She said they are worried about the childrens safety, as many bus monitors have been let go, causing the bus drivers to leave their seats, and unbelt and escort the kids off the buses. She said that employees with less time on the job have been getting more work hours than those with seniority. She also said that the transportation employees have been excessively monitored via camera's, even in the lunch room and meetings.

My Take:

Congratulations to the Irving students !!! GREAT JOB !!!
I hope the problems the transportation employees are experiencing, are resolved.
