Friday the US Attorney will annouce the findings from a probe of public corruption. For weeks everyone has been waiting to hear the results. There is no indication if it involves local or county. Some are worried that the former Hammond Councilman has been blabbing. When you have a jail sentence waiting in the wings. They start moving the mouth even if it involves close friends or family members. I imagine several area politico's are not going to sleep tonight.

As a total guess I will say 1 from the county level and 1 from the local/municipal level. I will bet my left testicle neither will be a Republican.

Whether one LC Democrat or 100 LC Democrats are indicted, Tom McDermott, Matt Reardon, and Dave Kuziak will be the first to remind everyone that some downstate Republican was nailed for vote fraud several months ago, so this corruption thing plagues both parties and no one should be too quick to paint Lake County Democrats with too broad a brush.

The number is getting close to 100 democRATS indicted or convicted here in Lake County in just the past 3 decades. When they are pointing the finger downstate to the Republicans, 3 fingers are pointing back at THEM.

...and one of them has the nickname of "butter" The stupid-ass voters in Hammond are entitled to all the crummy corrupt government they keep voting for.

Just because a person opposes someone you don't agree with doesn't mean they aren't without sins themselves.

I was correct. 2 local and 1 county. 1 local has ties to county, is pleading guilty and is cooperating. The other non-county is a gun dealer from Philly.

Your prediction failed. Lets see what will happen in the next couple of months. If either George or Al open up, your boy is going to be locked up. What goes around, has come around.

I wouldn't be surprised if George started talking. He had a lot of enemies on the DEMO side. He was sort of a lone wolf. He had a way of winning, when many would talk behind his back. Many years ago he was hit by a car in Highland and laid near death for weeks. His so called friends in the party would joke about calling the hospital to see if he died yet. They all wanted his job and get him out. He could pull a Rudy Bart and go into the witness protection system. Can't you see the people that would be involved. The FED's haven't been able to clean house like that since Rudy churped.

Now I wish JED would play the tape on a repeat, I'd like to use it, but this last Friday, May 17th, 2012, Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr clearly stated he believes, no he corrected himself, he knows the FBI listen to his Friday morning show.

Now I had to think about this a bit, why on the earth if Jr was operating an honest politician, with nothing to hide, why would the FBI be listening to his WJED show?

Tom clearly stated, the FBI would be listening so, if jr made an impulsive utterance, or an admission on air, he very well might have golden brackets and be given a suite next to Philpot, Pabey, and Salinas and a few other Club Fed Guest!

Are the Feds looking into Hammond Redevelopment Commission's rehab of Hammond properties?

Someone in this food chain had to sign off on the work for the contractors to get paid.

Are two federal agencies looking into the use of federal tax dollars? Tom?

And what was slanderous..... HUD's Inspector General Dis bared Hammond from participation in their program because of irregularities with rehabbed properties. It wouldn't be prudent of Tom to get a demo order on a property the Redevelopment Commission put $70K into, now would it. A contractor got paid to do some shoddy work?

Their next step as an internal process is to refer such misuse of federal funds for further investigation and to the DOJ. That's their policy.

Pictures don't lie, and as to friends, well Councilman, anyone can write a letter, make a phone call, have a chat.

Seems as of recently there may be some people with in the McDermott administration that may be laid down as pavers, protecting the chairman. They may not want to take all the blame, and tell the truth, they were given orders to either do x or lose their job.

Right Councilman?

& by the way I didn't start this thread.....
