I knew when Hammond gave them the tax abatement that this was going to happen. I worked for them in the East Chicago plant when they closed down that plant they knew long before the fact that they were going to close it. They hired me 10 months before the plant closed in East Chicago and I had people telling me from day 1 that the plant was going to close. When did I find out? Nine months later!!! Well, now they have done it to Hammond and in a sense to me again. As a tax paying citizen the money they give away to these big companies ends up being me paying MORE taxes!!!

Forward progress in Hammond. Next shoe to drop should be "Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous, Payday Loans Edition". Hollywood and the FBI should both have McDermott on their radar. With the weasel but toothless grin and out of season tan, McDermott radiates flash with someone else's cash. Hammond is a poster child for government wasting money paycheck to paycheck, tax draw to tax draw, and bonding to spend tomorrow's revenues to cover today's splurging. After that a remake of "Field of Dreams". The story will answer the question of whether after having built so many fields, will enough people be left in Hammond to field a team? We already know that "build it and they will come" has flopped major league.
