Image Thanks to CR Publications, an article was placed by Hammond's Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr indicating earth shattering electronic research results for the Festival of the Snakes.

The survey appears to have been the idea of Speros Batistatos, President/CEO of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, the one man in Lake County Jr just does not want to debate, as Speros is one sharp cookie. Really no joke.

McDermott JR., on a WJED episode, said with serious tone in his voice, Speros was not someone he wanted to debate. One man Tom is afraid of!

The research, as presented in CR Publication, not know if fully expounded upon, found.... well nothing to improve upon, giving rants and raves how Tom handles Festival of the Snakes (FOTS). No mention of any needs improvement, or the problems with bangers at the fest.

One thing though, this year Tom kept attendance records top secret, out of the papers, as he still failed to explain how the FOTS generated $66,000 in parking revenue, parking 4,400 cars at $15 a pop. Apparently over 100,000 people arrive at the FOTS, in 4,400 vehicles cramming 22.7 people per vehicle.... you do the math.

Now Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr have missed an opportunity for a Guiness World Record, along with that failed Statue of Liberty, once planed for Boy Scout Island, with either having 22.72 people arrive in each car or $250,000 in parking revenue disappear.

A couple of years back, the State Board of Accounts requested the City of Hammond to maintain their FOTS parking ticket receipts. I thought I read in one of the SBA Audits, someone in the Controller's office threw the receipts away.

So much for assuring compliance with a State Audit.

Tom's law... more on that later
