Was this case related to a certain Hammond City Administrative Person's family member having a substance abuse problem?

Hammond cops were reportedly called off the case, but did the feds pick up this case?

Did a officer of the Court, re direct a criminal investigation as a political favor? Wouldn't that be ..... illegal?

Will someone be knocking on Mayor Tom's Door?

Something else to be incensed about, doing political favors for a drug addict, placing children at risk?

Hammond doctor to admit taking kickbacks, pushing pills

BY TERESA AUCH SCHULTZ tauch@post-trib.com March 1, 2014 12:14AM

A Hammond doctor will plead guilty to taking kickbacks and pushing painkillers.

The plea agreement for Dr. Linda Rosenberg was filed Friday, the same day the charges against her were also filed in U.S. District Court in Hammond.

According to the information filed, Rosenberg took kickbacks from two unnamed medical testing companies to send her patients’ work their way. One laboratory in the Chicago area paid her $1,500 a month from 2007 through July 2011 to send blood tests to them, and another company in Northwest Indiana paid her a total of $34,000 from June 2011 to February 2012 to send her patients to it for MRIs and other tests.

She’s also pleading guilty to two counts connected to selling at least one patient the painkiller hydrocodone-acetaminophen, commonly known by the brand Vicodin, when the patient did not medically need it.

According to her plea agreement, she faces up to 10 years in prison on the charges.

The plea agreement specifically states that Dr. Rosenberg is cooperating with investigators and is to receive credit toward her sentence for that cooperation.

Years ago, Dr. Linda Rosenberg used to have a show on WJOB. From what I remember, when Dr. Willardo was convicted and sentenced, Dr. Rosenberg took over his patients.

Did someone cover up a criminal act?

Did their actions result in "certain" resignations?

Shredding @ city hall...

I'm sure Wire twister comments would be, nothing to see here, except.... well Hammond's Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr has been question several times by the FBI.

ATF is reportedly investigating a fire and Have been visiting the Hammond PD.

The city already has a fairly robust document shedder at the recycling center. Why the need to hire and pay for the service? Was the volume of documents so massive that outside help was needed? Do they keep a log of what they shred? At least a title or description of the file that was turned to mulch?

Shredded and forgotten, unless someone has copies stashed away.

Tiger, interesting that you mention copies stashed away. Many people associated with government agencies, keep a copy of questionable materials, in which they were directed to do something illegal or questionable.

That is how Bobbie Cantrell wound up in jail. Someone kept a copy of those records, it was one of Cantrell's partners in crime. Those records were used to convict him.

So someone gets to keep a medical license, drive impaired with children in the car, with few consequences, just because they are politically connected. Isn't this what happened to Tormez....

Quote:
from the Hammond Times:

VALPARAISO | Rachel Marvin showed no emotion Monday morning as she made her first court appearance on accusations of driving with drugs in her system and causing the death of one pedestrian while critically injuring another last week.

The 23-year-old LaPorte resident sat in jail garb and shackles as Porter Superior Court Judge Roger Bradford read through the 13 charges filed against her.

Police said Marvin struck the two women, who were out exercising, as she turned at 6:30 a.m. Thursday from southbound Morgan Boulevard on to eastbound Lincolnway in Valparaiso.

The women entered Lincolnway from the east side of Morgan Boulevard and were reportedly thrown a short distance.

While Marvin reportedly had the green light and westbound Lincolnway had a red light, a witness told police Marvin's 2002 Ford Explorer was traveling quickly and did not appear to be turning until the last moment. The pedestrians were easily visible in the roadway, the witness said.

One of those pedestrians, Lindy Wilson, 64, of Chesterton, died later the same day.

The other woman, Beverly Beschinski, 62, of Valparaiso, is reportedly in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Marvin told police she had consumed some wine the night before the crash, yet blood and urine tests revealed cocaine and opiates in her system as well as a low blood alcohol count, police said.

She is charged with several different counts of driving with drugs in her system, as well as possessing heroin and cocaine.

Marvin was awarded a public defender when she said she did not have the resources to hire a private attorney.

Further hearings were scheduled for Dec. 15 and Jan. 26

Marvin very likely does not have the political connections to have someone mediate thru her incident.

But now, the problem-ed drug dependent nurse, referenced in the earlier post, thru political connects, gets a government job, protected by none other than Thomas McDermott Jr.

Did Tom make sure the individual got a pass with regard to subscription fraud investigation, or driving under the influnece with children in their car, because they could shed light, cause Tom problems with how Hammond spends it money?? Was a threat made?

Tom must be concerned. Tom might still might get a suite @ club fed's vaaaaaacation spot!

This is how Lake County Works....
