Ah. Summer in Hammond, Indiana, one of NWI's finest open-air shooting galleries! Time to break out the warm-weather body armor!

Perhaps the sad sack WJOB coat drive organizers can put together an event at which Region down-and-outers can pick up gently-used bullet-resistant vests.

Nothing like a city employee to be so exceedingly happy, promoting a festival which looses over a $100,000 a year and where nearly $250,000 in parking receipts seem to disappear each and every year.

Only after years of a political $60,000 boat float paid for and subsidized by Hammond tax payers and severe budget cuts did that go away.

Was the wire twister given marching orders to promote a loosing festival.

Or is it the wire twister proud of $350,000 a year disappearing which could go for additional police protection.... hell Tom spent $820,000 last year in over time....
