Northwest Indiana Discussion

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

Mr. Janiec was absent this evening.

There was a quick Budget Hearing this evening, followed by the regular school board meeting.

Recognition/Presentation:

The SCH Chess Teams were honored this evening for their accomplishments. They garnered numerous trophies, including several first places in different categories.

Hammond High Art Students were honored this evening for their accomplishments. There is a project in the works for the students to do a large mural at a local company.

No speakers at either Public Expression Sessions this evening.

Reports:

Mr. Boone said the school bonds were sold at a higher price than anticipated, leaving the SCH with extra available monies.
The school calender is changing for next year. This was stated as to coincide with neighboring school districts calenders. For the 2014-2015 school year, the first day of school is August 13th. The last day of school, depending on the use of snow days, is May 29th.

Monday April 21, 2014 6pm Public Work Session for NEOLA(board policy). Monday April 28, 2014 6pm regular board meeting Clark High School.
