Tom McDermott dropped the "M" word on the radio the other day. During a rehash of his resignation announcement, McDermott said his mental health would be at risk if he stays on as Lake County Dem Chair. Personally, I think the horse has left the barn on that one, but let's take McDermott at his word. Yes, I know it's a stretch, but try really hard to imagine Tom speaking the truth. According to Tom, that Lake County "job" has him at wits end, nerves frayed, contemplating his mortality and that his life may be cut short due to stress. It's debatable how stressful that "job" is, but the consensus is that it is low stress. So, did McDermott bring about his own stress? Is he stressed, like say, a mob informant would be stressed? Is he stressed because he is being asked too many questions that he has too few answers for? Too few truthful answers that would keep him from legal jeapordy?

McDermott wants us all to know, that he still has a future in politics. A run for governor keeps popping up, but if this guy gets goofy as Chair of the Lake County Dems, what makes him think he has the mental stability to run for, let alone run the state's executive office? McDermott wont be coddled downstate like he is by The Times and WJOB. His hide will be curdled by the downstate press. The governorship is no picnic. Anyone have any career advice for Tom? Please be kind and remember a person's health is paramount.

Lu, well put, the stress of telling so many lies, and covering up so much corruption is difficult. So much energy is expended on attempting to dodge those legal bullets from the Federal and State overview, remembering the lies, worrying the next knock on the door, or the car following him to be federal agents watching, shaking his tree. Have they put a tracking device on his car?

That is what they did with Blago, they wire tapped his cell and house phone.

The lies, they weigh heavily on someone's mind, it is just a matter of time for Tom. Then add to the situation, McDermott sociopath behavior... it has got to be trying.

How many times has Hammond's Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr, and now the Ex-Lake County Democratic Chairman been caught in lies...

How many times has Hammond's Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr, and now the Ex-Lake County Democratic Chairman been questioned by the FBI, Law Enforcement?

As one visitor to the campfire has said, they are doing a FOIA to receive Tom's HUD tape used against him in which he cost Hammond residents $200,000 in settlement fees, in which he was described to be a racist. The visitor says upon obtaining the tape, It will be forwarded to The State Atty Discipline Board.

His inability to latch on to a "corporate" employer at six figures is hampered by his own self importance and mental health. Maybe Tom just might become a franchise owner, working behind the counter...... Oxbow is landing a chicken wing franchise, maybe there is hope for tom yet.

LU, is that why McDermott wants to run for governor.

Can you imagine this psychopath as state governor?

He could start a new tradition, following Illinois' governors going to jail.
