If these are the choices we have next election, I will not be voting.

Well as the Mantra goes anyone but McDermott.

Although I am not sure someone has the depth required, but then, neither does McDermott. :smt002

Watched the clip of McDermott on wjob site talking about Chico. What exactly does Tom know about Chico he is willing to reveal if Chico decides to run? What is it that would keep him from being Mayor but allows him to be a council member. Sounded a little like a threat to me.

You're right bert about the threat and Tom McDermott again can't conceal his real motivations. McDermott was asked if it upset him and what he thought about the Hinojosa(sp?) announcement, and he said that it motivated him and made him really want to run for mayor. Tom! Remember! You want to be mayor to "help people". To "do good". What are you revealing, Tom, by saying that you were ambivalent about running for a fourth term until you got motivated by another person expressing a will to run? Someone else wants to be mayor, so now you really want to run? From the time you won your last election, you lost interest and weren't motivated to be Mayor? Why should Hammond want you when you have already announced that you want to leave? Can anyone go back and find quotes from McDermott saying that he would be a failure politically if 12 years on he was still "just the Mayor of Hammond"? That if he couldn't advance he would like to go back to private practice?
