Well it took mother nature to stop the Fair Oaks Farms air show., or was that the reason for cancellation? At the start when they announced the movement of the Air Sow from Gary to that cow pasture, it sort of smelled. The reasons given just didn't add up. One mentioned the air traffic in the Gary area would disrupt air traffic at Midway. Funny thing, when Chicago has their show, it disrupts air traffice into Ohare which has many times more traffic than Midway. But one added note, that area out there in the cow pasture is a holding area for approach to Midway at times. With this cancellation, it sort of disrupts the plans to include the south counties into the local Travel and Convention operation if I see it correctly. The attempt to merge the Porter County Bureau into the Hammond operation wasn't even given a chance and the local boys were given the boot by Porter County. Getting all these counties together would bring oodles of bucks to Hammond. Now I wonder what their next crazy move will be? Build an exhibit honoring Al Capone.?
