Northwest Indiana Discussion

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

Note: There was a Special Meeting before the regular meeting this evening. The topic for discussion was Dr. Watkins contract. I did not attend this Special Meeting.

All board members were present.

Election of officers:

Mrs. White-President. Ms. Mamala-Vice President. Mr. Janiec-Secretary.

Special Recognition/Presentation:

The Mobile Dentistry Program was introduced this evening. The pilot program will be implemented in the Head Start programs first, then expanded to possibly the 10th graders, and then for the rest of the school grades. Insurance will be accepted, but students without insurance will also receive care. This program is in partnership with North Shore Health Systems.

The Lego Robotics Teams were honored this evening for their accomplishments. They garnered several region trophy's, and some state honors as well.

Unfinished business:

The first reading of board policy(NEOLA), was done this evening. It will be on the agenda for the next regular board meeting for passage.

Calender:

The next regular board meeting will be on Monday January 26th, 6pm at O'Bannon.

There were no speakers at either Public Expression Session this evening.
