Here are the highlights of the meeting: All board members were present. Special Recognition/Presentation: The Hammond Reads Essay Contest winners were announced tonight. There were 3 school winners from Lafayette, 2 from Saint Casimer, and one each from Kenwood, Clark, Scott, and Hammond High. The adult winner was David Innes, and the senior adult winner was Margaret Kowalski. The Science Olympiad Teams were honored this evening. No speakers at either Public Expression sessions this evening. Reports: The Hammond Academy Of Performing Arts at Morton High School, will have their final performance of the school year this month. Ms. Mamala, school board member, has been volunteering as the Choreographer for the students involved in this program. The Relay For Life will be held at Gavit again this year. Calender: The regular school board meetings schedule is Monday May 18th 6pm at Wallace Elementary. Monday June 1st 5:30pm at 41 Williams Street. There will be a Special Board Meeting on Thursday May 21st at 5:30pm, 41 Williams Street,followed by a Public Work Session. A Public Work Session is also scheduled for Tuesday June 2nd, 5:30pm at 41 Williams Street. My Take: Congratulations to all of the students and adults honored this evening !!! |
