Here are the highlights of the meeting:

Mrs. Murphy was absent this evening.

Recognition/Presentation:

A new logo and seal for Morton High School was unveiled this evening.

No speakers at either Public Expression Sessions this evening.

Unfinished Business:

Building Signage: There will be signs posted in regards to liability for the use of school facilities for the community.

Update On Administrative Guidelines: This re-do is 2/3 done, and will be presented at a future meeting.
Enrollment Capacity:
According to the information given this evening, the elementary information is complete, but the middle and high schools are not done yet. The numbers for the elementary schools indicate that some of them are at capacity. It was also addressed this evening, that according to the statistics gathered so far, most of the transfer students in the SCH that have taken advantage of the open enrollment policy are for the secondary schools, middle and high school, not the elementary. Also it was said that the kindergarten numbers should be higher.

Reports:

Glenda Ritz will be having a press conference this Friday at approximately 2pm at Harding Elementary School, west side of the building. The Times website has the time of the press conference at 2:15pm. http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/govt ... dc130.html

Calender:

The next regular school board meeting will be on Monday June 15th 5:30pm at 41 Williams Street. There will be a Public Work Session on Athletic issues tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2nd, at 5:30pm at 41 Williams Street.

The school year has been extended to include Thursday of this week. So the last day of class for the SCH students will be on Thursday, June 4th. This was done because of the snow days over the winter.

My Take:

Maybe the SCH should market the fact that the elementary school students are receiving free lunch and breakfast, and will implement it into the other school levels, when it becomes feasible. This might be an additional incentive for more parents to send their kids to the SCH.
