Northwest Indiana Discussion

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

All board members were present.

There were no speakers at either Public Expression Session this evening.

Unfinished Business:

Mr. Rivera and Mr. Boone were both called up to the podium this evening.Mr. Rivera for his report on recruitment of new Teachers, and Mr. Boone for the capacity numbers for the school buildings, and the numbers of possible slots to be available to transferring students from other school systems.
The board appeared to be somewhat disappointed with the recruitment efforts.
The board appeared to be extremely disappointed with the lack of available information by Mr. Boone.

Reports:

Mrs. Manous said that of all the expulsions in the Hammond Schools, none of them were transfer students.

Calender:

Classes will begin early this year, on August 12th. The next regular school board meeting will be on Monday July 20th 5:30pm 41 Williams Street.

My Take:

I sure hope that the school board gets the information they need to make decisions, as soon as possible.

What about Roy Richards?

Nothing from the school board or administrators. Some people I have contact with say he was railroaded. Some other people I talked to, said this is just the tip of the iceberg.
