Here are the highlights of the meeting: All board members were present. Unfinished Business: Mr.Rivera and Mr. Boone, with their assistants, gave a brief update on the progress made to fill positions in the SCH, and the ongoing capacity issue. Calender: The next regular board meeting is Monday August 3rd, 5:30pm 41 Williams Street. Public Expression 2nd Session(no speakers 1st session): Carlotta King informed the board and the audience about a school supply giveaway and an "All Students Lives Matter" rally scheduled for Saturday August 15th, noon-3pm, at Martin Luther King Park. The rain location for this event will be the Hammond High School gym. Councilman Anthony Higgs is the sponsor of this yearly school supply giveaway. My take: School starts soon, and the SCH is going to need a head count as soon as possible. Make sure your child is registered in your area school way ahead of the start date for the first classes on August 12th. |
