Recognition/Presentation
A Hammond student, who had previously received a scholarship from the Hammond Education Foundation, has been given another scholarship to further her education.
Unfinished Business:
A brief on the enrollment was given this evening. The majority of the Hammond schools are at, or near capacity. Eggers is over capacity, currently at 101%. This will impact transfer students from out of the district, as some schools cannot take any more students due to the capacity levels, except for students who have moved into the district.
Calender:
The next regular school board meeting will be Monday August 17th, 5:30pm 41 Williams Street. There is a Puiblic Work Session scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th 5:30pm 41 Williams Street. All of the school board meetings after Labor Day will start at 6pm, and the rotation of the schools hosting the board meetings will also begin at that time.
Public Expression 2nd Session(no speakers 1st session):
A parent voiced his concerns about his child in the Hammond schools,. He said that he has sent correspondence, but has had no reply.
My Take:
Congratulations to the student who received the extra scholarship !
I sure hope this parent of the student with concerns, gets them addressed promptly.
