Here are the highlights of the meeting: Ms White was absent this evening. Recognition/Presentation: The Scott Middle School Choir and Orchestra performed several selections this evening. No speakers at either Public Expression session this evening. Reports: The Administrative guidelines are still being worked on. Calendar: The regular board meetings for October are Monday the 5th 6pm at 41 Williams Street and Monday October 19th at Morton Elementary. New Business: Ms. Murphy said the Hammond High Band is in need of instruments. My Take: The performances by the Scott Band and Choir were outstanding !!! If the Hammond High Band needs some musical instruments, the money needs to be allocated for this. If used ones that can be refurbished are more in line with the budget, an appeal should be made to the community at large for this need, and maybe a local music store can refurbish them for little or no cost, for the student's use. I would be willing to donate some older musical instruments that I have here. |
