October 15, 2015-At a meeting of the Hessville Crime Watch tonight, Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott announced that the City will be purchasing the former Wal-Mart location at 1828 165th Street. "This will be done with federal money" McDermott stressed. McDermott said there is $11M in federal money already set aside for the purchase and construction costs. The new facility will house an indoor soccer complex-something McDermott stressed would draw sports tourism to the City. More details on the project will be forthcoming in the coming days. THIS is total insanity ! 11 million is NOT the full cost of this stupid, idiotic white elephant. IMO, this newest pos project will be in the $25-$40 million dollar range.
Remember all the millions spent on the little league complexes on Columbia? Well, they are only used a few weeks a year.
So McNero fiddles while Hammond crumbles. Our streets are pothole lanes, our housing is crumbling and is not worth squat, jobs are few and far between, and most pay minimum wage or a few cents more.

QUACKERS Slazyk for mayor !!! Write her in !!! She certainly cannot do any worse than the McJackass that is currently in city hall !

Tiger... with you on this,

Which number of Tom's closest campaign contributors are going to get your tax dollar to put into this adventure?

An Architect?

A Hammond favored roofer?

A favored Water Department Administrator putting together a Bond Deal while on the job, er..strike that, after hours of course!

A best pal Attorney doing the legal work?

A family member involved in the real estate business getting in on the deal?

65

And hell why not toss in a local radio station that will get additional advertising $$$?
