You mean out of a city of 85,000 people Tom can only munster 6,798 people to vote?

Intentional... you bet, see if Tom enforced out of state license plated vehicles to have gotten Indiana licenses, he just may not have gotten re elected.

On the bright side, 4 more years to work at getting Jr a club Fed suite. Sweet!

Lets see Tom run for a US Senator seat using those outstanding numbers!

I guess the McDermott pr machine, is going to tout re election by large numbers. Not much truth in the matter until someone starts digging.

Can't blame the weather for the horrible turnout. McDermott had every advantage in this election. More funds. More fearful beholdens. More fawning fawns. And of course the effen "D" in front of his name, that counts for more than 50% of votes from the droves of "Punch 10 and Punch me in the Nuts For Good Measure Too" crowd. Yet 13% still would vote for "Anyboby But Tom". Tom. You are obviously overqualified to be Mayor of Hammond. Your resume needs a little enhancement. Come on Tom! Reach for that brass ring! US Senate? US Rep? Governor? Whatsamatter? Afraid?

He says he is not running for governor or the state seat vacating by Coates. He says he wants to spend time with his family, and likes being home with his kids every night.

I find his comments very interesting, to say the least.

A good number of that "Punch 10 and Punch Me in the Nuts for Good Measure Too" crowd are already bemoaning the fact that "nothing every changes" in Lake County and vowing that "next time" they need to throw out all of those bums.
