Awful whiny for a guy who represents with a boxing glove graphic his political persona as some kind of tough thick skinned politician. Kevin Smith gets canned from his position with the election board and he and McDermott whine about not getting a heads up call about it. Waaaahhh! Pete Visclosky won't give him his cellphone number! Mommy! This guy has got a glass jaw. He is lucky to have no organized opposition in Hammond or else he'd be sending out his unaccomplished resume to the private sector.

"Tough", "thick-skinned", and "accomplished" all have their own definitions in the incestuous Safe Space known as the Lake County Democratic party. Da' Region has no shortage of Bloomsbury Groups and Algonquin Round Tables comprised of entitled single mothers, public employees, old-school union gorillas, and middle-aged retail clerks who have never gotten their lives going in a forward direction but are continually awestruck by their own innate intelligence and insight. These good folks, as well as hard-hitting Grade Z sycophant newspaper nitwits like Rich James and Dan Carden bolster the reputations of the McDermotts, the Freeman-Wilsons, the Repays, etc. who seem surprised when they learn that their names carry little weight outside county boundaries.

Our puke provoking political pugilist displayed to us his toughness by hectoring ten year olds at Halloween. McDermott refused to consider adjusting trick or treating hours to avoid bad weather for those young people who would be walking out and reluctant to cover their costumes with heavy coats or rain gear. McDermott said the hours are set in stone and for kids to quit whining, suck it up, and suggested they might need a kick in the behind if they don't. Clearly he has what we need in congress.

Well, there you go. Can you name any other mayor that has been so decisive and unwavering when it comes to engaging Big Halloween? The Oracle, The Jailman, and other Hammond toadies are probably still enjoying a gooey, orgasmic daisy chain over that milestone policy decision.
