The massage parlor in north Hammond will not open. According to a source at the Hammond health department the city made it too difficult for the business to open.

There is a for rent sign in the window. I know a lot of residents in that area were concerned about the presence of the massage parlor.

I'm sure Mirage is disappointed. He'll continue to have to drive to East Chicago to get those kinks rubbed out!! LOL :D :)

whats happenning in hammond thats good right now?

things are moving forward on the magnet school...looks like we should have a big announcement on that front in a few months.

same goes with purdue cal expansion projects

horseshoe is on schedule...barges will be on the lakefront by around memorial day.

cabelas succussfully transplanted about 50% of the wcc trees along the berm its building on northcott...and is ahead of shedule at the moment.

levy work is on schedule, wolf lake work is ahead of schedule

river park is gone, some more fill is needed to be completed...but than the city will start its recruiting process for a new business

destruction of the woodmar mall is finally over. construction on the new carsons starts once the weather breaks in the spring.

doctors offices on ludwigs property.

new strip mall coming a little north of that on calumet near madvecks (accross from edison)

super walmart got planning commission approval...construction set for late spring.

the last bond payment on the shepard center is due in february...and 3 million in lost marsh debt has been forgiven by the horseshoe.

construction on 30 new 100k+ homes along parrish ave starts late spring.

home rule is looking more like its going to pass...which will make all of the retail development of late look even more brilliant...illinois folks coming here to shop and help offset property taxes of local residents...perfect!

and what you wont hear about in detail for awhile...but is also progressing nicely at the moment...is a beuatifull plan that will revitalize downtown hammond that includes major private investment.

so all in all there is plenty of good news in hammond going on right now mirage. if you dont come back by june 1...you may hardly recognize your home town!

Why is this good? Nearly all the people I heard talking about it were opposed to the city taking on the expense of a magnet school now.

Freetime posted Casino Gobbles Lakefront yesterday without reading the complete article. She was attempting to make this administration look responsible for giving away the lakefront. When it brought to her attention that the past administration actually sold the property to Horseshoe she was at a loss for words, if you can believe that.

When Dedelow was on wjob today she never confronted him about the sale of the property. A perfect example of her shameless and disgraceful attempt to discredit the mayor :P
