It now appears that the same outfit that's rebuilding Woodmar Mall from scratch is now about to replicate itself with the old K-Mart/Builders' Square shopping complex at the I-94-Indianapolis Blvd. interchange.

Any responses or wishes for prosepctive stores?

Here's my fearless predictions for possible tenants:

Lowe's
AMC Theatres
Stein Mart
Barnes & Noble
Best Buy/Circuit City
Michael's art supplies
Office Depot
PetSmart
Sports Authority
Kohl's (?)
Costco
Target (?)

Thought I'd throw these possibilities out at you.

And a good, Mexican restaurant to fill out things.

its my understanding the pradium only owns the front half (indy blvd side) of the property at the moment. i believe someone will try to consolidate the property with what is owned by st francis first before anything is built there. my guess is the parties will wait on cabelas to decide what the properties are worth. once they do...i think your shooting low with your ideas on what will come in there.

so i wouldnt expect construction to start on the kmart property till at least in the spring of 08

the front half would wind up with things like the stores on your list...but the back half would have at least one...probably 2 hotels.

I wouldn't be opposed to that. The only thing is good as in who's opinion?

I used to love El Taco Real 20 years ago but the taste has changed through the years for one reason or the other. And I seem to be seeing a trend towards using some kind of white cheese that tastes more like American cheese that just doesn't go well with Mexican dishes in my personal opinion.

Chela's is pretty good from the few times I've been there. There is a newer place on Kennedy that I tried when they 1st opened but it seemed more like canned & microwaved. And there was a place in downtown that was good at first but quickly went downhill.

I sure miss the old days when the harbor had so many good places to get tacos and other Mexican dishes. But across from Cabela's I'm betting the most you can hope for is a Chipotes. lol

Well, if they put up any type of movie theater, it's going to be filled with gangs before it's even open for a year. :?

As for Borders, Target, Kohls, Petsmart, etc... all of those stores can be found about 15 minutes North in Highland. It's kind of pointless to have more of those so close to each other.

They should put up some type of store/commercial business that will not only bring $$ to the area, but one that will also provide jobs and decent pay (nothing like Walmart :angry3: )
I don't know exactly what would work there, but they should really think it through before they just start building needless junk...if they do that, it will just turn out to be another modern-day woodmar mall and fail miserably.

And like all eating places, none are the same. There's Mexican eating places, I wouldn't go to because I don't think the food is very good. Others, no problem. American places, the samo, samo. I like Texas Steer, Grill, Stones and Bones, but others, well, I'll take a pass. Each place is defferent, and it's your dime! Good luck!

Plaza Garibaldi on Indy in EC used to be very good, but I haven't been there lately. I used to love that place about 3 in the morning. You can sit by the window and watch he world go by on the boulevard. It is open all night.

Big Unit is some weirdo who has been stalking me for a couple of years. He NEVER stops, and follows me from forum to forum.
I was at the K Mart plaza the other day to go to the license bureau. Boy, is it looking shabby over there! Gonna need a lot of fixing up, IMO.
