Why is Councilman Salinas CUTTING DOWN ALL OF THE TREES IN the
area between walks and streets.

You go down Columbia and all of the old trees have been cut down.

Go down the streets such as Oak etc, and you see all of the older
trees marked to be cut down.

The people are getting angry and he has told them we have a
lot of dead trees. These trees aren't dead. And he is NOT REPLANTING
any other trees.

Is he just trying to blow his cut of gambling money?
Is he doing a favor for the tree cutter?

The older trees help keep the houses cool in the summer.
The older trees help keep the houses warmer in the winter (act as wind and snow breaks).
The older tress help keep the air clean by exchanging fumes in the air
into O2.

HE IS DOING A DISSERVICE TO ALL IN HIS DISTRICT.

BAN THE TREE CUTTING.

there are no electrical lines or phone lines in these areas.

I wish they would cut down all those trees.

I think Salinas is doing a GREAT job in having those, old ugly trees cut down. It makes the streets seem wider, and cleaner!

I agree. Get rid of all of those trees. And the houses on the tree streets also.

I don't dislike Salinas personally, he never made me really mad about anything, it is just we need a better leadership right now. A cornerstone of Nick's platform is transparency in government. More public information can help the residents of Hammond guide their city in the right direction.. IMO.
