As sparks said, it's good that they decided to demolish the building instead of moving down the street and leaving a vacant building. Hopefully something good will come out of this.

I might want to build a house there. I lived only three blocks away from that corner!!!!!!!!!!1

That area of Hammond is experiencing a small resurgence. There is a brand new Dunkin Donuts, new doctors offices just south of there and now Walgreen's has invested several million on Calumet ave. Flatrock is a big improvement over the place that was there previously, and the relocated Anchor Inn is nice also. One thing that woulkd really help is if the city could spend some money and buy out Kenny Mays and tear it down. Having a topless joint in that location discourages new investment.
