What is going on with the SOUTH SHORE? Things are crazy on that train now.

Does anyone know of a good TIME to take the Chicago bound morning train to avoid having to stand all the way to Chicago?? When do you have to go to get a decent parking spot in Hammond or East Chicago?????

Is there no train where you can get a seat at East Chicago or Hammond after say 7 am?

Current East Chicago AM trains:

TRAIN NUMBER DEPART ARRIVE RANDOLPH/MIL. PARK
108 06:46AM 07:35AM
110 07:03AM 07:47AM
12 07:14AM 08:05AM
112 07:40AM 08:31AM
212 08:10AM 08:52AM

I get a seat every morning in Hammond. Athough I am on the 7:45 train most often, over the past month or two, I have taken the 6:37, the 7:09, the 7:19 and 8:15 trains out of Hammond and have gotten a seat every time, and there have been empty seats in the car in which I'm sitting.

However, getting a parking spot in Hammond is difficult. I've found that most spots in the lots are usually taken by the 7:09 am train.
