Dwight Taylor Gary, Indiana Schereville Police Department Schereville, Indiana January 14, 2005 Attn. Chief Daniel J. Smith Racial profiling is not only unacceptable, it is illegal. Recently, two African Americans were pulled over in your town. The owner/passenger was slightly intoxicated. That was the reason he had a designated and sober driver. Why was the intoxicated passenger arrested for public intoxication? He had all of his proper paper work for his automobile. There is only one reason for what transpired. Discrimination. You cannot continue to attack African Americans at your will. We are all aware that it is against the law to drive drunk. But is it against the law to be driven home if you are black and under the influence of something sold legally in stores? Absolutely not! I would hope there will be a thorough and independent investigation into this matter. A copy of this letter was also emailed to Chief Smith. Dwight Taylor |

well thats easy to explain, cops are crooked they get away with whatever they want. Theyll get a big slap in the face when someone does something about it though. to bad its the word of someone witha record against a cop. |
