maybe we should do like Rabbit Hash (in Boone County) Ky. did.
they elected Goofy the dog for Mayor, and the Junior the dog for Mayor.
Compared to our politics, the dogs could probably do a better job.
Last I heard, Junior was running for County Commissioner.

His motto is: going forward one paw at a time.

Nov 17: Mayor Dog - Debuts on Animal Planet Channel

Tune in on Friday, November 17: 2006 at 9pm for the debut of Mayor Dog on the Animal Planet. Mayor Dog is the follow up film to Jude Prest's 2005 feature film Rabbit Hash: The Center of the Universe. This movie will take you on a journey with the country's first canine mayor. Check your local listings for complete details and times. Additional airings will run: Nov. 18: 1pm and Nov. 20: 10am.

Mayor Junior has become the mascot for the Northern Kentucky Women's Crisis Center's pet protection program. Pets of battered woman can now stay in safe houses for 30 days. "Junior will be a face for our program," said Kim Adams, executive director of the Women's Crisis Center.

In June 2005 Mayor Junior kicked off his Goodwill RV Tour. Expect to see his tour portrayed on the Animal Planet in 2006.

The St. Joseph Academy in Walton, Kentucky officially dedicated an Underground Railroad Memorial in Rabbit Hash on Monday, March 21: 2005. On hand for the ceremony was: Mayor Junior, former Boone County Judge-Executive Bruce Ferguson, Bishop Foys of the Covington Diocese, and representatives from the Governor's Office and the National Underground Railroad Museum. The marker sits on the banks of the Ohio River, directly behind the barn, facing 'freedom' -- Rising Sun, Indiana.
