The chicken chain operating 38 stores is being sold today. Offers to the Bankruptcy court are ending at 5pm today. The highest bidder is $265.000 That's not much when you figure each Dunkin Donut store is worth around 1 million each. Of that 38 stores of Brown's the company only owns 2 outright. the others are franchisees. Fully controled by the Brown operation.

Wow! What a bargain for some astute investor. I used to go to the Highland store often. Great fried chicken livers!
Wonder how that works when you own a franchise and the parent company goes bankrupt?

....and to think that just two or three years ago, the Hammond yea-sayers and cheerleaders couldn't contain themselves over the fact that a new Brown's Chicken place had opened on Kennedy or Indianapolis Blvd. (does it really matter?). Par for the course for "economic development" in the Tree City.
