You have to ask yourself how come Carol Ann Seaton wants this job so bad. Anybody with an ounce of integrity left would have pulled out of the race to let a qualified candidate free from scandal run. If this is the kind of gutter trash Sparks claims is more worthy of our trust that tells you all you need to know about how he is wired. I'm kind of wondering how, on her salary, this woman can afford 3 homes and 5 cars not to mention the associated expenses like insurance, utilities & all. Maybe she inherited a chunk of cash from daddy? But that would mean she was well aware that the homestead exception was a fraud. Did anyone ever see if her Michigan home had a homestead on it? Who in their right mind thinks this woman is ethical enough to head that office?? As far as I'm concerned NOBODY!

I never thought she was the best candidate for the job. This year I worked as a precinct judge. When we ran the vote totals,I was quite pleased to see Hank Adams had beat Carol Ann Seaton by a substantial margin. I think the Dems really wanted to keep the assessor's office because a Republican assessor could uncover more instances of illegal deductions. BTW, I never once said that I supported Seaton or would vote for her. Mike3775 incorrectly assumed I had, but we all know he's not the sharpest tool in the shed!

I expect Hank Adams to take a good close look at what's been going on in there. I really believe he's an honest public official and isn't very picky about where the chips may fall.

Get this! Some say they have to investigate her past or find a better replacement before they know if she can still keep her current position:

Councilwoman Elsie Franklin, D-Gary, said Thursday she didn't want to make a move unless someone has the name of a better appointment to the appeals board.

Councilman Jerome Prince, D-Gary, said he has similar concerns about Seaton's reputation. He said the council had debated removing her earlier this year but chose to postpone action until after the election.

Council members Larry Blanchard, R-Crown Point, Ted Bilski, D-Hobart, and Christine Cid, D-East Chicago, said they want to research Seaton's background and consult with fellow council members before they decide how they will vote on Seaton.

I wonder how they're gonna survive now that the entitlements and block grants are going to be scaled back and the "river boat" casino revenue is drying up?


Actually that shows that South County is more populated than the northern half is now, since the south overcame the north this election.


The flaw in your argument is obvious. Only 1 Republican won. ;)

Granted the population is fleeing the pet rock mentality cities but they're still losing countywide elections.

Welcome to reality. Kinda like a puppy or a kitten opening its eyes for the first time.

Hammond isn't going to prosper in any way. The concerns of the residents will always run a distant fourth to the needs and wants of THE PARTY.

One piece of hope as far as State races is the REDISTRICTING. This will occur. So Reps. such as Rep.Mara Candelaria Reardon(WHO LOST HER OWN HOME TOWN OF MUNSTER) will have to do more than take advantage of the Dems in Hammond,whiting and East Chicago etc..

yeah it is going to be interesting to see the D's crying when districts get redrawn and some lose their power base with redistricting
