Post subject:  BUSHEMI'S INSURANCE REQUEST PARASITIC

As an also-ran news story the Post-Trib reported today:

"In a separate matter, County Council members debated allowing incoming Lake County Sheriff Legal Adviser John Bushemi to be eligible for county health insurance as a contractor.

"Historically, the position has been eligible for health insurance, and the County Council will take up the issue again on Tuesday.

"'When you open it up to contractors,' Lake County Council Financial Adviser Dante Rondelli said, 'watch out. This is kind of big.'"

Now check this out. In February 2010 John P. Bushemi became a leading partner in Burke Costanza & Cuppy LLP, a prestigious business/commercial law firm in Northwest Indiana with offices in Merrillville, Valpo, and even Chicago.

Prior to this JPB had his own practice. This is not a solo practitioner scratching out a living in the Region's economic jungle.

No. Bushemi spent years in solo practice to work his way up the ladder to a big-time corporate and business law practice fully exploiting the experience represented on his curriculum vitae re municipal law for the City of Hobart. Now he's playing with the really big boys as a tax lawyer, according to what he said in a radio interview with WJOB's Vera Mileusnic, a few months ago.

Is this how big-time lawyers, leading partners in renown law firms earn their keep?

Is this Buncich's way of efficiently running the sheriff's dept? I bet it's just the beginning for the Big Bun. Meanwhile, isn't it enough that JPB got a contract?
