State Senator Lonnie Randolph has apparently found a way to force the local option income tax down the throats of Lake County residents, like it or not.
He has authored a bill that will eliminate the law that freezes the amount taxing units can collect in property taxes UNLESS there is a county option income tax in effecxt.
IN other words, you're going to pay more one way or the other.
Here's the full text of this odious bill:

http://www.in.gov/legislative/bills/201 ... 135.1.html

You can bet there are Lake County politicos pushing this behind the scenes.
Call Lonnie Randolph and tell him what you think about this.
Can't find the phone number on the General Assembly website, but you can email him through a link on here:

http://www.in.gov/legislative/2345.htm

Don't let this bill pass unless you think you aren't paying enough taxes right now.
