I think HIllary Clinton did a great job on her keynote speech tonight at the Democratic convention.
Her support for Obama was strong, and she did a good job of reiterating and reinforcing the Dem issues in the campaign.
She got a wonderful reception from the crowd too.
I'm glad. Her cooperation is absolutely necessary for Obama to win, IMO.

WHAT HOME RUN, SHE NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE ISSUES OR PLATFORM THE DEMOS HAVE,. ALL SHE AND THE OTHERS COULD TALK ABOUT WAS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. THE DEMOCRAPS DONT EVEN HAVE A PLAN TO PRESENT. LOSERS !!!!!

"Clinton didn't seem angry or betrayed or entitled or any of the things that critics have attributed to her—she seemed merely unenthused, and so did the audience."

by Joshua Green

Hillary Goes Out With a Whimper

When she first campaigned for a New York Senate seat, Hillary Clinton earned the nickname "The Laundry Lady." Last night's speech was a reminder why. Clinton didn't come close to injecting the shot of energy that the Democratic convention desperately needs, but neither did she do anything to damage Obama's campaign. Instead, she wrapped up her historic candidacy with a whimper—an understated, buzzword-laden speech that held about as much passion as a Wednesday night city council meeting.

"None of us can sit on the sidelines," Clinton said, but did not implore. "No way. No how. No McCain." Had the message come any later, it wouldn't have counted. Had it come with real feeling, it would have counted for much more.

I think that Atlantic piece is a CROCK. Rush Limbaugh is also busy today telling me I didn't hear the speech I KNOW I heard last night.
I repeat-Hillary struck the right chord, inspired the crowd, and helped Obama, IMO. She was also very statesmanlike about her friend John McCain, while explaing WHY he can not be elected for the good of our country.
I hope Bill Clinton does as well tonight.

Hillary didn't do anything but say "remember me in 4 yrs when this loser loses to McCain this year"

thats all she said

Actually as speeches go I found it lame. At best I rate it a "B-" as a stump speech. But as a major political address I give it a "C-" with a solid "B" for delivery.

But not to single her out a lot of the speeches were about like that. I can remember much more stirring convention speeches prior to 1970 so maybe they've just lowered the bar nowadays.

I remember a speech before her's yesterday where the guy (I think it was Wisconsin's governor) took about 5 minutes to say "Up with" and proceeded to list up with just about every Dem position under the sun whether controversial within the party or not. All he needed is the big red hair to complete his clown act. :P
