When the first President Bush was running for re-election - he was seeing the effects of so called Reaganomics. The economy was screaching to a halt and budget deficits were heading to the $400 billion level. He tried to bring some fiscal responsibility and the right-wingers got goofy. They figured they could stop that Clinton guy after 1 term. Well thankfully he finished 2 terms and returned the budget and economy to respectable levels.

Enter 2008 - Republicans knew they had little chance so - their favorite moderate republican to hate came to the rescue. He was forced to take on right wing views he had espoused a few years previous. Then he named a veep that made the neo-cons happy instead of another moderate which would have helped him. He further used negative attacks from the Karl Rove style - despite the fact he hated being the one on the receiving end in 2000.

Of course people who listen to people like Rush, Hannity and Drudge will now be told its not "our fault no one has listen to us since 1994.

I personally want to thank the wing-nuts and ditto heads. You could not have stopped a great campaign like the Obama campaign ran but you helped create a big enough margin in electoral votes to give him a mandate - which he will not abuse like Bush did. He will show what its like to reach out across the aisle and work to make the country better not demonize those who dont agree with him.

Ok a note to Mirage... Can the republicans come up with a better female candidate in 2016 than caribou barbie - so Reagan might still be right and have the first female VP be a republican?
