House GOP leader John Boehner of Ohio called Emanuel "an ironic choice for a president-elect who has promised to change Washington, make politics more civil, and govern from the center."

Exactly what I was thinking plus I think he will be just terrible at this position, which one could argue is the 2nd most important position next to President but twice as demanding. Pretty much all of those 3 AM calls will go through him first.

I don't think he'll last long. Maybe until Christmas, if that. Then it will again be time for "change."

On the brighter side he will now NEVER be Speaker of the House!

The irony in this choice is think of how many people Blago now gets to appoint as replacements while even his own party is still out to get him. He could get some very powerful friends in high places real fast! And he didn't even strike me as that much of an Obama supporter.

Gee,I didn't know we had to check with Repubs before filling staff positions. Rahm Emanual is a smart guy that gets things done and that's what's scaring you.

Gee, I didn't know that artie was on the Barack bin Obiden team filling staff positions.

Perhaps artie is hoping to be chosen for Secretary of the Posterior.

Watch & see Artie! Watch & see. ;)

But actually, if Obama was telling the truth it would seem like he would seek the advice of Republicans if he wasn't lying about a spirit of cooperation. I said advice, not consent. Doesn't seem like this guy is too much interested in cooperating unless you see things his way.
