Post subject:  Can a Republican Win a Countywide Office in Lake County?

Do you think Hank Adams can beat Carol Ann Seaton for Lake County Assessor?

Adams has been the St. John Township Assessor for several years. He's taking quite a risk by giving that office up to seek the county post being vacated by Paul Karras. He is a Republican.

Seaton beat the odds by defeating the better-known Randy Guernsey in the Dem primary. Her rising star kind of crashed and burned when news of her dual drivers licenses and car registrations in Michigan and Indiana became news.

She has never explained to the public.

I'm not convinced she actually lives in Indiana. I KNOW Adams does.

It is said that no one can win a county race without Gary. That might give the advantage to Seaton.

Wonder if the people of Gary will go with Seaton despite these issues?

Another interesting race is for Lake County Prosecutor, where the Republicans have put up Douglas Grimes of Miller to run against Bernard Carter.

I'm VERY glad Carter now has a challenger.

I'm a Dem, but I'm very glad to see County Republican Chair Kim Krull getting some good people into these races. I won't have to skip over these races after all.
