The majority of Indiana’s counties have now caught up. According to the Indiana Department of Local Government Financing, 74 counties have their final budget order issued while four others have had their assessment notices issued, meaning that they are just one step away from finalized budgets.

Meanwhile, three others are on the fourth step of the process, with their budget orders under review.

Porter County and seven other counties are at the third step of the process that involves preparation of the certified assessed values. As the DLGF website reminds the public, this is a step that normally is due on August 1 of last year.

Lake and St. Joseph counties are also at the same stage as Porter County. The others are in central or southern Indiana.
