Hello,

I am a comp tech and would be more than happy to assist you with your problem.

The first thing you should do is install Spybot Saerch and Destroy:

http://fileforum.betanews.com/sendfile/ ... otsd14.exe

Next Run the program and first download any updates in the program.

Next run a scann to get rid of any treats on your system.

If this does not work or you cannot figure the program out I am willing to take time to do this for you for free via remote access. If you would like me to do this please post here or send me an IM on Yahoo Mess: neorayden6662

After I got a rotten TRojan called STartpage 19J, I started using AD Aware too. I keep it and SPynot updated and run them religiously. I make sure my AVG is always updated too. THe reason I got infected was stupod AOL goofed up my records and Ui was unable to update my McAfee. I got rid of AOL anf have a new computer now, and so far so good. Can you really run two anti-virus programs at once, as the previous poster mentioned? I thought that was a no-no.

Hi
My computer was infected with a trojan virus today, from a link from someone on msn messenger. I ran AVG Free and the virus went to the vault, which i have deleted and all seems to be running fine now. however, i've had to vault it three times. when I restart, the virus seems to reappear. but my computer is running fine.

but...

there is an icon on my desktop titled winstall.exe which when scanned doesn't contain a virus, but I have just had a quick scan thru some stuff on the internet and get the idea that its a nasty little program that lets other nasty stuff infect my computer I can't delete it, and in fact, am not sure if this is accurate and am a little worried its an important windows file i shouldnt be deleting at all.

I've now installed Avira Antivir as well, as a double up safety precaution, but no spyware detection programs as yet (I'm not even sure if I'm wording that correctly..)

help??
Thanks a lot

I know of the virus you got, it is nasty and it will send itself to all of your Messenger contacts making them think you sent them something :x

The best thing you could do would be to save what you want/can and format your computer.
