| Post subject: | Where should we look in NW Indiana? commute to chicago |
My husband and I are considering a move to NW Indiana but we are unsure of what communities to look into. My husband works all over downtown and greater Chicagoland so the commute is a definite factor. Any input on Lake County areas would be appreciated! |

Anything near the Lake would be great. The train would be very close. I'm talking about Ogden Dunes, which is absolutely beautiful, and $$$$$! Then there's Porter County with a little hamlet by route 12 and the Chesterton Dunes. Very few houses there, but very nice with a view of the lake and then there is Chesterton and Beverly Shores. The train ride on the South Shore would be maybe 45 minutes to downtown Chicago.

And don't forget Hammond and East Chicago, both are right on the lake front, and they even got marinas, where ALL Lake County residents go to with their canoes, and what not. |

Avoid East Chicago, North Hammond and Gary. Illegal immigrants and gangs, filthy neighborhood, where no one can speak English, garbage, filth, filth and EXPRASSO in East Chicago. And move into URright's neigborhood; it's full of mentally, unstable people like Urright who is a complete nutcase as proven by all her crazy posts here, and on the TIMES forum. No one in their right mind would ever pay attention to her posts.........they are too whacky! |

Try Hobart.. There's train service to Chicago and they offer a friendly small town atmosphere.. |
