Cheaper electric cars are coming. This car proves that it is possible to have high performance with a zero emmission car.

That may be true, however right now they're not even close.

The battery technology is still a work in progress.

Yes, but for $100,000 it's nothing more than a novelty item for people that have more money than they know what to do with.

We are closer then you think. Mass production will bring prices down on battery / fuel cell systems. With high fuel prices and the concern for the environment the demand is there. I believe the problem is the Auto & Petro industry trying their best to slow things down by lobbying the policos in Washington as well buying up the battery & fuel cell technology patents & sitting on them.

I say within 5 years there will be thousands of electric cars on the road. Within 10 years there will be hundreds of thousands.

Within 15 years or less we will have flying cars. :D

Like all revolutionary new ideas, the subject has had to pass through three stages, which may be summed up by these reactions: (1) 'It's crazy --- don't waste my time.' (2) 'It's possible, but it's not worth doing.' (3) 'I always said it was a good idea.'
