Post subject:  Websites for garden ideas

Hey, just wondering if anyone has been to any good websites that have garden ideas/plans. We bought this house and thought we really liked the landscape (the green bushes looked great with the white winter), but realized once the spring/summer times came around we weren't too fond. So if anyone has a great website with ideas or plans, it would be appreciated as I would like to try and plan a new garden over the winter. Thanks!

Both of you will probably like to mess around with this virtual garden :D

What kind of yard do you have mama?

What's the soil like?

Thanks tony, I'll have to check this out! The area I want to do has the "box" type bushes in it (along the pathway to the front door)and I want to cut them out and make it look softer with some floral perennials. Not to mention the mosquitos are crazy in that area. I also want to put a retaining wall up in front of the house where there are some evergreen trees and a dogwood (at least I think it's a dogwood). The dogwood could go, maybe just needs some pruning....

No problem, mama :)

You may want to test the soil where the box bushes are now...they may have caused the soil to become acidic, which is great for some plants like azaleas, rhododendrons and blueberries...otherwise you can raise the pH with lime.

I am eagerly awaiting the return of spring. I love gardening in the spring and summer. Should I buy seeds or already growing small plants this year?
